Music
“Music is powerful. As people listen to it, they can be affected. They respond.” – Ray Charles
Music can evoke memories and be used to inspire, create and sooth. Through music teaching we aim to inspire a love of music. Children develop their talent as musicians and are encouraged to express themselves creatively and confidently.
Music lessons develop an understanding of musical skills and concepts and are taught through a range of activities including games, singing and playing instruments. Children are given regular opportunities to improvise, compose and perform. Lessons are engaging and fun and children are exposed to many different genres of music, including reggae, hip hop and modern classics.
Singing is a regular part of collective worship and reflect the values and important events that take place at Aston and Cote Primary School.
