In Fletcher Class, we aim to ensure children reach their full potential. We know that every child is unique and we make sure we give them the opportunity to grow their individual talents. We are committed to ensuring children learn in a safe and happy environment. It is important that children enjoy coming to school! We will always celebrate their achievements and instill the idea that mistakes are part of the learning process.
Our Learning Journey
This term, our topic is 'Up, Up Away!'. We will be learning about the famous British pilot Amy Johnson, who was the first woman to fly solo from London to Australia.
We will be using Amy's journey to help us name and locate the seven continents and five oceans, as well as researching the different weather patterns she may have encountered on her journey. We will also look at how transport has changed since Amy went on her journey. Aeroplanes are very different now!
This term we will be exploring the text, 'Little Wings' by F.J. Beerling . Our writing journey will provide us the opportunity to write narratives, postcards and wanted posters!
