Here at Aston & Cote CE Primary School, we think it is incredibly important to involve children in making decisions that will make our school even better.

The Aston Ambassador is chosen by the staff, they are someone who leads by example, is a role model to others, always follows the school rules and demonstrates the school's core values. The Aston Ambassador meets with the SLT each half-term to support the planning of the strategic direction of the school.

Two children from each class are elected by their class to serve on the School Council which meets once each half term to discuss issues such as playtime rules, which charities we as a school should support and they even get to meet with the company that provides our school lunches to talk about new menu suggestions.

Two children from each class are elected by their class as Eco Warriors, their role is to promote sustainable practices and in the past, have raised money to support more green ways of working, for example, water butts. 

Our Year 6 House Captains are elected by the members of each house. They support the younger members of their houses at playtime and lead us in house competitions such as rounders and poetry.

The Year 6 Reading Ambassadors help to organise the school library including an “Author of the Month” display. They also organise events throughout the year to encourage everyone to read for pleasure.

Each year, four children are trained as Playground Pals. They organise games and activities for the younger children at lunchtime.

We have year 8 Worship Monitors from Year 5, that set the hall up for worship, welcome, greet, lead us in reflection and prayer and dismiss.
