Pastoral care
Pastoral care

‘Members of staff work successfully to provide high quality pastoral care and to ensure pupils are happy at school.’  OFSTED

We take the time to really get to know your child and their individual needs, strengths and desires. If there are any needs or concerns, these are identified and acted upon quickly. We go to great lengths to ensure the fulfilment and happiness of your child. Our Christian ethos, which values your child’s individuality and encourages him or her to have a sense of wonder and curiosity about the world, forms the foundation of the pastoral care surrounding them.

We offer small nurture groups for those pupils who may need additional support for their social and emotional needs as well as regular class circle times and reflections.

The school provides a nurturing environment and all pupils are very well cared for.’OFSTED

All children from Reception Class (summer term) to Yr 6 are allocated to a House at Aston and Cote.  There are four Houses Phoenix – Red, Pegasus – Blue, Dragon – Green and Griffin – Yellow and each has a Yr 6 House Captain, who is voted for by the Year 6 class at the start of the school year.

The House Captain helps to organise the weekly ‘House point’ Assembly, when we count up the totals for the week.  At this assembly they announce which House has won the House Point trophy for that week.

The children are put into their teams for in-school competitions, including Sports Day at the end of the summer term.

Mirs Chadwick (one of our teachers) trains and leads a group of volunteer Y6 pupils to become Playground Pals. a small group of Playground Pals are on duty each day and they lead a variety of games with the parachute and other equipment.
